Caldak or Chladek or Cldakowsky
« on: April 10, 2007, 05:37:00 AM »
The 1900 Census lists a William Caldak with wife Annie of Polish-Lithuanian descent.  The Caldak name doesn't appear anyplace else so I think the spelling of Caldak must have been a census taker's attempt to spell a difficult name.  Does anyone have any suggestions for names I can try.  I am working with variations of Chladek or Cldakowsky.  Any suggestions of names beginning with CHL or CLD would be appreciated.  The Caldak's lived on Millbury Street.  Living with them was a cousin Andrew Codwinski.

As I thought, the name Caldak was a census taker's error.  The correct name was Salduk.  Refer to Hannigan-Foley-Nugent thread in Irish genealogy for particulars. Thank you to all you looked.
