Our Scout troop went to "TV" for monthly camping trips and for one week in the summer.

Treasure Island was a lot of fun in the mid 1950's. I remember the kitchen being open air with early breakfast, and all the other fun things to do for a week. I was with troop 39 Notre Dame at Salem square. A place to make merit badges and have fun.

I never went...except for Family Day
A story was told about being in a rather severe thunderstorm one afternoon
A bolt of lightning struck a tree inside the camp near where the tents were, causing some kids to go home early because of fear!
I have a picture of my oldest brother (now deceased) and Troop 7 out of First Baptist Church (Park Av.)
I want to say this image was taken between 58-60, but not sure

No Borders...No Compromise!

I remember the Canvas tents with the wooden platform floors with the stell frame beds.  My troop was also in the war canoe races every summer.

Nice old picture of Troop 7, remember the open theatre area at Treasure Valley, where the picture was taken on the side of a hill of sorts. They would have a campfire in the open area and leaders and guests would tell stores to the 100 or so scouts (remember many were spooky stories).
