Hey there, rutland records show he died in 1864 and was single and he was born in ireland to Jerry and Ellen Dean.  Probably died in the war?  Perhaps rutland mass. historical society has something on him.  Good luck "cousin"

I found that he died at 17 years of age in Andersonville as a POW, he was the youngest son of Jerry & Ellen. No one knows where he is buried ... some say in a mass grave at Andersonville other records say South Carolina. He left Boston, Landed in Plymouth North Carolina a week or so later was taken prisoner,  died  a year later.
