Worcester's Silver Mine Location

(1/1)

r0nd0:
Does anyone know the location of an alledged silver mine in Worcester during the 1700's and is there any evidence that it existed still visible today?
I know the early description: "The spot is easily found. Follow the Nashua Railroad north on foot from its crossing on Mill Brook till you pass the 2 mile post. The deserted shaft is about 20 rods to the northeast of this spot. It is readily found, as a pile of slate and stones still lie there where they were thrown out by the miners on a slight eminence in the meadow."
Where is this in terms of today's landscape??
Thanks
