Richard Healy 1843-1928
« on: April 20, 2004, 02:34:10 AM »
Anyone in Worcester called Duke, McGrail or Healy interested in corresponding with me.  I am doing research into an ancestor of mine called Richard Healy who lived in Worcester Mass form 1882 until his death in 1928.  He was survived by his great grand neice Mrs John Duke (nee Helen Corcoran).   I lived in Worcester Mass from 1971-74 but had very little information at that time.

My Father in law is Richard Healy who grew up in Nadick, Mass.  He had a brother named Jeremiah, could this be a relation?

Hi Linda,  I think there may be some connection.  Could you give me the name of Richard and Jeremiah's father and I will check my family tree.  I have around 2000 names on it going back to Timothy Healy DOB 1760 (aprox)  There were some of the family in Somerville Mass and Dorchester Mass.

Wow, this is old stuff ... have to dig deep (I'm only 61).

In the 1950s, there was a clothing store on Main Street, Worcester: the "Richard Healy Co."
I think my mom worked there in the late 1940s when it was (previously) "McGuinness'es".

The family that owned the Richard Healy Co. in the 1950s was the McGrails. I vaguely remember Arthur McGrail (just before he passed - I was pre-school age) and his widow (can't remember her name), who lived on a secluded private road out back of the Holden Reservoir: Stone House Hill Road.

Their son was William McGrail ... and his wife, Susan, lived on Haviland Street (off Highland Street).
They had two daughters (late 50s, or early 60s), one named Stephanie (the older of the two).

I haven't known anything more about them since 1970.

If that gives you anything to go on, good luck, best wishes.
