Duxbury Rd. pre-1950 ?photos wanted
« on: August 29, 2002, 06:15:03 AM »
Have you or your family ever lived in one of the three deckers on Duxbury Road in the 1950's or earlier?

Do you have pictures of the area during this era?

My mother's family owned #3 Duxbury Rd for many years. We are doing a genealogy project and would like to have a photo of this building.

Thank you for your assistance.

I lived at 21 Duxbury Road from 1945 to 1963, I remember the house, I believe some Armenian people lived there, when I was young.  Sorry I have no pictures for you.  That house was torn down in  the sixties.

Thank you for posting a reply to my brother's request for photos.  Our family (Connor/Lawrence/Barter) lived at 3 Duxbury Road from 1922 until 1956.  Our great-grandfather John Henry Connor owned the three Decker from 1922 until 1951.  At that time it was sold by his son to an individual that owned a great deal of property in that area.  The home was torn down in the early 60's to make a parking lot for Lincoln Sea Food.   Today UMass Memorial Healthcare owns the property.

We're still looking for photos of the home if anyone has one. :)
