I am looking for information on a company named M.J. Whittall Associates, Inc. from Worcester, Mass. who manufactures a Whittall Worsted Wilton rug, pattern #278, color 73, size 9x12 register 254586.  I would like to know how old this rug is and if it has any value.

HI there!

As you can see from my name, I have a great deal of information about M. J. WHittall Associates. It was started by my great grandfather in the early 1880s and closed in 1956.  Let me know a bit more about your rug and I will try and give you some idea of its value.

My great-grandfather Charles C Hugo worked as "overseer" at Whittall Mills approx 1885-1930.

today a ebay.com searching for "whittall rugs" yields 7, the 9 by 12 size ranging $500 to $2,000

Thank you for your reply. Due to my inexperience my message did not get posted. I have a Whittall rug with the label containing the following information.

Pattern 323, Color 54, Size 9X9, Register 189542.

I am trying to find out when it was manufactured and the possible value of it.

I have a Whittall rug and would like some information on it. It's an Angelo-Persian Rug, Pattern 340  Color 162

Hi,

I have recently inherited a 9 x 12 Whitall rug.  The pattern number is 391 – I've not seen any others mentioned anywhere with the pattern number 391.  The color is #3 and the register number is 227754.  Might anyone be able to offer me an idea as to the value of this rug?
