Title: Whale on rail car in Lincoln Square
Post by: Jenna on June 05, 2012, 02:35:11 PM
Does anyone recall a boxcar that carried a stuffed whale?   It was on display at Lincoln Square. It was a mystery to me when a family member told about seeing the display in the 1940's. I've been trying to confirm this for a few years. Today,  much to my surprise, I read a story in the June/July issue of Reminisce magazine written by Dave Goyer. He recalls seeing the display in 1933. So there really was a whale in Lincoln Square! However, my relative wasn't born until 1940, so I'm guessing the display he saw was mid-40s. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks :)
