Trying to find out where Father Thomas is buried .... not sure when/where he died ... last known address was in Holyoke, MA @ Mount St. Vincent in the 1960's.

Did you try the social security death index?  Maybe ecclesiastical workers like nuns and priests didn't get ss.

These Fergusons are, I believe related to the McArdles, also of Louth.

Thank You ;)  I checked SSI could not find him, not sure if nun's and priest's need/had SSI#. I wrote a snail mail letter to the Springfield diocese to see if they could give me some info on him. with the info you give me on his dad,  I 'll call  St. John's  cemetery maybe he is buried with his parents. :)

We'd love to hear about your findings.  You know, because the dad was born in ireland and died in the 40's (and even the mom) there may be a place of birth on their death certificates or even in their obituaries.  Mary Ellen

Ferguson update: I found where  Fr. Thomas, is buried! :)   He is buried with his parents in St. John's (Worcester), section "G"-  lot owner- Peter Dolan - there is no listing on the stone to where in Ireland they were from but; I spent some time looking up obit's- did not find Fr Thomas :( , but I did find his dad James & mom Mary's. James obituary  stated he came from Castletown, Cooley County, Ireland [ Louth ?],  he came to USA (Worcester?) in the year 1889. Mary died on June 27,1952 @72 years from injuries suffered from being struck by an automobile on Main Street that morning. Born ? Ireland, daughter of Patrick & Mary (Sand) Mc Keown. left four sons: Fire Capt. James J., Joseph P., Rev. Thomas and Francis X. Four sisters in the USA and one brother still in Ireland.Could not find Fr. Tom's obit. in the Worcester paper, [might look into the Springfield area papers] he died on  March 01, 1987.
