Title: Worcester Irish Origins
Post by: corky3 on November 12, 2005, 03:51:26 AM
Well I am still searching for the Irish origins of the Michael J Curtin family unit with little luck but another approach was suggested to me. So basically I am coming to the forum again with another question.

It was suggested that the Irish settled in neighborhoods and parishes with Irish of like origins i.e. Cork people gravitated to former residences of Cork, etc. I was wondering if anyone has seen any kind of trend in their research leading to that conclusion.

The Curtins lived from the directories in basically two areas Upsala Street and finally on Fruit Street. Michael's funeral was at St. Margaret Mary Church; Margaret's from St. Paul's. I do have an address in he 1889-1900 Worcester directory of East Central Street which would have probably been the first residence in Worcester. Any hints from that?
