Kane Clinton MA
« on: September 02, 2009, 07:09:05 AM »
I have an ancestor born Clinton, MA 1862 ; John Cain, (Cane, Kane, keane);
parents Thomas Cain & Catherine Gavan (gaven, gavin, Mcgavan)(Co. Mayo, ire).  I
have searched the Vital Records 1840 -1910 several times and checked any John
Cain found but no luck.  Perhaps someone more familiar with the system  can
help.

thanks,

Karen
This is a post from the Worcester Roots Web messageboard.  I thought maybe BV might have some information.

Cheryl, check for births of males with no first name under the Kane variations.  I have seen living people whose birth was listed this way.  Use birth month and year from census records as a guide.  Do you have NEHGS?  Also if they lived near a town line the birth might be in another town (but only a block or two away).
