Title: Temperance Societies
Post by: bvirish on October 26, 2006, 02:19:02 PM: Does anyone know if there are any surviving records from the Worcester Irish Temperance Societies (St. John's Temperance and Literary Guild, Father Mathew's Total Abstinence Society, etc.) If so, where would they reside? With the diocese, the Parishes, or elsewhere?

I am looking for membership lists from the 1880s to the 1930s.

Nov. 2, 2006. He would be the expert on the social clubs, societies, etc. He is in town for the Blackstone Canal symposium. Anyone else going to that? J

Hopefully I can query Dr. Meagher then.
